How to Access Drive, Alignment, and Followership
In this Lean Learning Leadership Lesson I will be covering:
A consideration of who you really are
3 routes to shining a light on your purpose, or somebody else's purpose
A guided coaching exercise that reveals your purpose
Knowing who you are at a deeper level informs what you are about and what you are going after. It is a rudder in the storm in times of change and uncertainty. It gives you a strength and depth that can create curiosity in others.
Understanding what sits at the core of other people helps you form a more meaningful relationship with them. It fertilises deeper connection between you, and helps build trust. Knowing the other person's purpose means you can enrol them for the contribution they really want to make.
Connecting to purpose is about understanding your why’s and the other persons why’s. When you understand peoples ‘whys’ you can access the parts of them they are living for. Good managers and leaders know that followership is based on connected whys.
